My mind has become wary of conceptualising. It's good to just stop and have a break and let the images flow again, free from a self imposed mental constraint - be it a theme or knowing too much about where I want an image to go - rather than experimenting and evolving new ideas as I work. No, I'm not dead - in case you were wondering. Just busy painting away. I'm doing a mural like canvas, the largest I've done yet. It's something like 1500mm x 2000mm. I have been slowly working on this painting for the last week, making minor additions and adjustments here and there. It is now laden with gold paint and small checker patterns. I have to admit I'm happy with how it has turned out.  Melbourne! 07/31/2009
