My mind has become wary of conceptualising. It's good to just stop and have a break and let the images flow again, free from a self imposed mental constraint - be it a theme or knowing too much about where I want an image to go - rather than experimenting and evolving new ideas as I work. No, I'm not dead - in case you were wondering. Just busy painting away. I'm doing a mural like canvas, the largest I've done yet. It's something like 1500mm x 2000mm. I have been slowly working on this painting for the last week, making minor additions and adjustments here and there. It is now laden with gold paint and small checker patterns. I have to admit I'm happy with how it has turned out.  Little Brown Jobs 09/29/2009
 The dalias at my last house have inspired this piece. They not only survived but thrived during a very dry, hot summer receiving only soapy water from the wash tub. Our neighbours would religiously feed the birds every afternoon, which meant there were always little visitors to our garden. Melbourne! 07/31/2009
